Cosmic Gate

Cosmic Gate is playing at local club Zouk this Saturday, 11/12. I actually despise that club for shows, because it was obviously not intended to be a venue for a DJ set. Regardless, I’m still going, because I love Cosmic Gate and have enjoyed each of their live performances. Here are 3 of my favorite remixes of their work, and 2 of their own remixes. Hope you like vocal trance! x]

Not Enough Time (ft. Emma Hewitt) [Andy Duguid Remix]

Raging (ft. Jan Johnston) [Alexander Popov Remix]

Under Your Spell (ft. Aruna) [Myon & Shane 54 Monster Mix]

Paul Van DykHome (ft. John McDaid) [Cosmic Gate Remix]

John O’CallaghanFind Yourself (ft. Audrey Gallagher) [Cosmic Gate Remix]

The beginning of an era.

This isn’t set in stone, but I plan to post at least one song a day, whether it is brand new, relatively recent, or even from the 90’s. Quality EDM is timeless. 🙂

Additionally, I will be showcasing tracks of all veins of EDM. Including, but not limited to: drum & bass, dubstep, hardstyle, electro house, IDM, nu-disco, progressive, techno, tech house, trance, & trip hop.

With that out of the way, let’s begin with some of my favorites.

Peaceful, melancholy, downtempo electronica.

It’s fantastic how it takes a vocalist from the age of swing & blues, turning her into a funky, dance-floor anachronism.

Electro-pop with a sinister bite. The Knife is so delightfully odd.

I’m not really sure what to call this. Downtempo tech house, maybe? Regardless, it’s a work of art. The use of negative space is refreshing and effective.

Although it’s now been overplayed beyond belief, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s one of the greatest uplifting/vocal trance songs ever created. If this song can’t stir any of your emotions, you probably should get your heart checked out. </3
